Le monde du Reggae est sous le choc après l'annonce brutale du décès de Peetah Morgan du groupe Morgan Heritage avec lequel le chanteur avait notamment enregistré une multitude de hits (Liberation , Don't Haffi Dread , Reggae Bring Back Love , Down By The River , What We Need Is Love , She's Still Loving Me , Tell Me How Come , Nothing To Smile About , Selah ..) au cours des trente dernières années .
Peetah Morgan et son groupe ont incontestablement eu un rôle crucial dans le renouveau du Reggae-Roots (Nu-Roots) au milieu des années 90 notamment grâce à leurs collaborations avec les producteurs Bobby "Digital" Dixon & Lloyd 'King Jammy' James pour les albums " Protect Us Jah , One Calling , Don't Haffi dread " publiés entre 1997 et 1999 .
Durant cette période Morgan Heritage a également popularisé le concept de one-riddim avec le succès phénoménal en 1998 de la compilation " Morgan Heritage Family And Friends Volume one (Mount Zion Riddim) " sur laquelle nous retrouvions des artistes tels que " Capleton , Jah Cure , L.M.S , Bushman , Ras Shiloh " mais aussi " Toots Hibberts , Denroy Morgan , Jah Mali , Military Man , Prince Theo " et bien d'autres encore .
Le groupe publiera en 1999 et 2002 deux nouveaux volumes avec de nombreux artistes comme " Buju Banton , Anthony B , Jah Mason , Luciano , Everton Blender , Determine , DYCR , Beres Hammond , Richie Spice , Junior Kelly , Admiral Tibet , Chrisinti & more " .
Morgan Heritage produira également avec leur label 71 Records en 2000 la compilation " Gunz In Da Ghetto " avec des artistes tels que " Sugar Minott , Marley Brothers , Warrior King , Ultimate Shines , Bounty Killer " et bien d'autres encore .
A partir des années 2000 Peetah Morgan et son groupe publieront de nombreux albums (More Teachings (2001) , Three In One (2003) , Full Circle (2005) , Mission In Progress (2008) " ainsi que plusieurs enregistrements Live " Live! In Europe 2000 (2000) , Live At The London Astoria (2002) , Live In Europe 2003 (2003) , Live Another Rockaz Moment (2006) , Live in San Francisco (2006) "ou encore les compilations " Know Your Past (2001) , The Journey Thus Far (2009) , Legacy (2021) " .
En 2008 le chanteur profita d'une pause avec son groupe pour débuter une carrière solo en enregistrant sous le nom de Peetah Morgan de nombreux singles pour des labels comme " Penthouse Records , Juke Boxx Productions , Maximum Sound , Don Corleon Records , Inkalink Records , Lifeline Music , Special Delivery , Romeich Records , The Bombist Records ..." .
De 2013 à 2019 Morgan Heritage publiera les albums "Here Come The Kings (2013) , Strictly Roots (2015) , Avrakedabra (2017) , Loyalty (2019) " en remportant notamment en 2015 le Grammy Award du meilleur album Reggae .
Le groupe avait publié en 2023 leur dernier album intitulé " The Homeland " .
